Service and repair
Fault diagnosis and repair of the instruments listed above
and their sensors. They are supported throughout their
service life, including units supplied many years ago, so that
an installed fleet is not left without support on account of the
age of its equipment.
Serviced equipment is returned with documented test results and
a six-month warranty on the repair.
- Turnaround 10–15 working days from receipt
- Six-month warranty on repair work
- Shipping to and from Varna arranged by the customer
For a repair enquiry, please state the model and serial number
of the instrument and describe the fault observed.
Repair of the instruments listed above is a standard service.
Other devices are considered case by case, on enquiry.
Measurement data from any instrument is accepted for
analysis.
Calibration
Two distinct procedures are applied, as a sensor and an
instrument are subject to different modes of failure.
-
Pressure sensors are calibrated on a pressure
rig against a reference sensor of 0.01% error, at room
temperature.
-
Analysers are checked against a charge
calibrator, which injects a known charge so the measuring chain
can be verified independently of any sensor.
A calibration record is issued with the work. A two-year interval
is recommended for sensors in regular service.
In practice, these sensors retain their calibration over long
periods. Instruments have been received after
ten years in service showing no measurable
change in pressure sensitivity. Recalibration is therefore
better understood as verification — establishing that a
measurement can be relied upon — than as correction of a
drift that rarely occurs in practice.
DS Engineering does not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Where a
classification society, flag administration or contract requires
accredited calibration specifically, that must be obtained from
an accredited laboratory. For routine recalibration, intended to
confirm that an instrument continues to read correctly, the
service described here is the normal arrangement.
Traceability of the pressure-rig reference and the charge
calibrator to national standards is currently being
established through the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology;
certification will be confirmed once issued.
